Radio station intern

Unity Radio is looking for an intern interested in learning the day-to-day operations of a community radio station. This position provides hands-on experience with live production, programming, audio, video, and station operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with producing live studio shows
• Operate the audio board and help manage live broadcasts
• Stream live shows to Facebook and YouTube
• Schedule live and recorded programming in station automation software
• Schedule sponsor messages and station promotions
• Perform basic audio editing
• Update show information, guest details, and promotional content
• Work with hosts, guests, and station staff to keep programming running smoothly
• Help troubleshoot basic technical issues

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new technology
• Dependable, organized, and able to follow direction
• Interest in radio, broadcasting, audio, video, media, or communications
• Previous experience is helpful but not required
• Training will be provided

Some responsibilities can be completed remotely, but interns must be available to work in the Unity Radio studio in Worcester. Live programming currently takes place Tuesday through Friday, primarily between 3–6 PM. Interns will be scheduled based on their availability.
